Aassmaa Akhannouch (born in Morocco in 1973) lives and works between Casablanca and Lot in France. Her photographic work explores memory. She creates photographs for which she carefully stages scenes inspired by her own memories. The cyanotype prints are then enhanced with watercolor, making each image unique. Aassmaa Akhannouch tells stories that are fragments of memory open to the viewer's associations and emotions.

Born in Meknes, Morocco, in 1973, Aassmaa Akhannouch lives and works between the south of France and Casablanca. With her images, Aassmaa Akhannouch tells us stories, she offers fragments of memories to the free associations, imagination and emotions of the viewer. Beyond her intention to document her own past, the artist brings out intimate emotions, reveals poetic and timeless impressions. By using alternative printing processes enhanced with watercolour that make each piece unique, she succeeds in creating images that are both familiar and fascinating.
Aassmaa Akhannouch est née en 1973, elle vit et travaille entre Casablanca et le Lot. Son travail photographique se déploie autour de l'exploration de la mémoire. À travers ses images, et une attention particulière au tirage, elle raconte des histoires, des fragments de mémoire ouverts aux associations et aux émotions du spectateur. Du passé, elle tente d'extraire une empreinte intime, lyrique et intemporelle.
