The French artist's work is similar to that of a painter. His photographic compositions are constructed by a refined staging of forest colors and are the result of long studies of the undergrowth. The images, printed without any post-production intervention on soft cotton paper, give the appearance of expressionist paintings. The Fondations series can be read as a chronicle of the silent life of forests in constant metamorphosis.
